I just didn’t want to go my own route and then find out later there was an entire extended set that most people try to use. @pahchay Read this thread all the way through from the top. My experience with 2017 on the last few versions of macOS is that it will launch and run for a bit, but is very unstable and crashes often. Does anyone know where I can find a version of SketchUp Make 2017 free? I only need it for some personal projects – planning my decking project and building a workshop in my garage.

Exactly what do you mean by “exporting sketches”? I expect you are doing something wrong or you have incorrect expectations. You can download SketchUp files, PNG images, and STl files directly to your computer. You have only renewed your subscription, that does not imply that there is really an update. In the menu there is an option to search for updates, the process is automatic.

don’t go to the export section. go to the download section right below it.

Once the F is freed up, I then assign it to Follow Me, which by default has no shortcut at all. This extension doesn’t seem to actually save an older version to be imported into other softwares it is still saved as a 2025 file. Maybe it works into older versions of sketchup, but not 3rd party softwares that require an older version. How much older does it need to be for the other application? If it’s anything after 2021 you don’t need to save to an older version.

I am trying to import a pdf plan to sketchup and when I go to import the document it is not showing to attach it. Simply don’t activate metalics, roughness, normal or AO. You can also edit your material and turn all the maps off.

BTW, your profile shows you are using SketchUp 2022. You could open your 2025 model in 2022 and save it backward if needed. The native option to save to older versions was removed in SketchUP 2024.

As you can see that information is useful to us in giving you guidance when you have questions. Copy the old materials folder over to 2025 and make it a collection / etc. Don’t use the PBR style and the PBR maps won’t be used. Maybe so, except you do not have to have two version of the file folders open at the same time (which I was not able to do).

For older versions than that, there are several extensions that will give you that capability. Then I spent some months where I was doing all my SU on the v18 beta, so of course that was a parallel, vanilla installation and didn’t have those shortcut changes. I recently came across this site with a pretty good list of SketchUp keyboard shortcuts and I now use it all the time. Keep in mind it’s the commands that are important, not the particular shortcut keys I assigned to them.Don’t be too concerned about what others choose to do.
